1,4-Piperazinebis(ethanesulphonic acid) ,also short for PIPES,it is White powder.

Application:

PIPES is a hydrogen-ion buffer for organic synthesis. It is used to prepare a variety of mammalian tissues for electron microscopic analysis. PIPES works well in cell culture because its pKa is close to the physiological pH. Utilizing energy dispersive X-ray analysis, this buffer prevents the introduction of extraneous anions or cations into the tissue, allowing for the identification of elements.
